Dear colleagues

The time has come to say good bye to all of you at my departure from Swisscom Strategy & International (SI).

From the past to present:

I have very much enjoyed my last years working for Swisscom here in Berne, first in business development and marketing projects with Business Customer Directorate and shortly after in Corporate Development / Corporate Planning with SI. The focus was in management of corporate processes and in development of plans and strategies.

Time, market and people are changing. In this time we all have learned a lot. We are now in a phase where focus changes: financial analysts rather challenge  our strategic moves than our price elasticity in residential segment for local switched traffic  ;-). I think we are all looking at the market with more professional eyes than we did three years ago.

Working in a corporate environment has influenced me a lot. One of the most successful points was the plan and the equity story for Swisscom IPO. A great prove of successful joint effort. Another highlight was the merger of the short term (budget) and mid term planning process although the company was not yet ready for the need of management attention, clear targets and restructuring in this time. - Although I was not a fan of being a buffer in all the politics and discussions caused by partial interests, it was a learning process on all levels. I learned a lot regarding the differentiation on what's feasible, what's not feasible and on what one want to be feasible.

My future:

I have chosen to start another challenging job with Bluewin AG in Zurich as Head of Corporate Strategy. This job will be much more in strategic content, in strategic projects, partnerships, M&A and new business development than in processes and management tools development as it was last year.

Thank you to all of you as my project and planing buddies which continuously helped to improve processes and it's results in a way where vagely right is more than precisely wrong.

I wish you all best of luck and lots of excitement in your job and personal fulfillment. And it will be my pleasure to see you again in one or the other project the e-world will challenge us with.

Best regards,
